2007 Ural Patrol sidecar motorcycle. Same as a Gear Up but shiny with lots of chrome. I am the 3rd owner. This Ural has extremely low miles since new, 2177km/1353 miles. Odometer in km speedo in mph. When I got it in 2023 it would start running very poorly after a short time riding it. Previous owners had it in shop multiple times. Shop had gas tank cleaned, replaced CDI timing unit, and I don't know what else. The actual problem was the CDI brain mounted under seat. I replaced CDI with points ignition. Had a custom plate made and mounted 1960s GM points using Ural points cam and centrifugal advance. Points can be adjusted using a 1/8” Allen wrench through opening on side of timing cover and dwell meter. Original Ducati coil wouldn't work I used a Harley coil. Runs great. Can easily be converted back to Ducati CDI if desired. The advantage of points ignition is that if CDI fails out in the boonies you're stuck. If you have points ignition and carry a few simple tools and a few relatively inexpensive parts you can fix the problem and be on your way in minutes. Dwell meter and 1/8" ball end allen included. New battery. Leather side curtain on sidecar door and also have full tonneau cover. I installed a GPS and digital tach/hour meter. Original 2-up seat installed, I also have a sprung solo seat I fabricated. All of the old CDI parts included along with a new spare centrifugal advance unit and other stuff. I'm only selling because it doesn't fit me. Legs too long and cylinders are where I want my legs to be, so it's uncomfortable for me. I want to buy a golf cart for $3K or less so I would take one of those as partial trade. Not interested in any other trades.
