This Gibson SG Junior (sn 514065) from early 1965. It has its original Polaris White lacquer finish with a mahogany body and neck, rosewood fingerboard and a chrome Vibrola tailpiece.
This is a transitional setup: it has a C-profile neck with the 1 5/8" nut width but is still equipped with the small pickguard and body-mounted dogear P-90. All chrome hardware including the "short" Vibrola and solid stud-mounted bridge. I've added Fralin shims underneath to lift the P90 to a proper height - and these are easily removable back to stock.
It originally had the Japanese-made strip tuners, but now has period-correct 1960’s Kluson Deluxe in-line tuners. The only modification is new screw holes for these tuners with the previous screw holes having been filled.
The guitar has been blacklight-inspected which confirmed it’s free of any modifications (aside from the tuners) and very small finish touch-ups on the body from long ago. That said, there appears to be a tiny crack at the top of the headstock that is of no risk to the structural integrity. There are numerous small dings, dents and checking, and some missing finish on the edges—plus the typical missing tip on the horn of the pickguard. Aside from these: its original factory finish has aged to a beautiful patina.
Included are a Music City Savvy Bridge + Music City Locking Studs (first photo). Original bridge, studs and tremolo arm will be included as well. The original black-covered chipboard case is pretty rough but functional, and is also included.
