The ORIGINAL Sigma Mini-Wide. Produced from 1978 until the Mini-Wide II came out in 1985.
The Sigma Mini-Wide is a 28mm f/2.8 Macro Lens with 0.22meters close focus and a macro scale on the lens barrel.
As you focus closer, the Macro scale starts at 1:9 and increases to 1:4.5. The lens covers full sized sensors.
The Sigma Mini-Wide is a revered, and much sought after, piece of vintage glass from the film era of photography. This example is in Excellent Condition with a high IQ (Image Quality). It is an outstanding 28mm fast prime and versatile all-around lens suited for multiple applications: Landscape, Full Length Portrait, Architectural, Interiors, Street Photography, etc...
The lens is M42 screw mount. I added a helicoid adapter to go from M42 to Sony E-Mount. By rotating a ring on the adapter, you can lengthen the distance from the focal plane - it's like a built in, automatic deployment macro tube of expandable length. The longer the macro tube, the closer your minimum focus becomes. I've found this setup works on Sony E-Mount to allow the lens to focus up to contact with the subject. The minimum focus distance with this setup is effectively Zero (0)!!!
I used this combo exclusively for close-up macro (see attached photo samples). I believe the results are way above the cost of this lens and adapter and WAY better than how it adds up on paper. This combo always yields FANTASTIC close-up images. Note how smooth and creamy out of focus areas become with a shallow depth of field, also the pleasing bokeh.
Comes with lens, helicoid adapter, front and rear lens caps, Sigma's felt lined "perfect" hood (removable), a Sony E-Mount body cap, and a padded storage/travel case.
