I designed these as an outcome of the short shifter craze in the aftermarket import sport/compact car market in the 90s. This design allows the knob to be installed as low as it will go on the stock shift lever to essentially create a short throw shifter. I have been using one of these knobs in my 1987 since the mid 90s. Will work with stock shifter boots although I use a rubber boot modified for my specific application.
Specs: Machined from 6061 T6 aluminum bar; spherical diameter appx. 2 1/4"; length 3"; bottom diameter 1".
NO jam nut is required.
Polished Knob. Used. Price $150.00.
Non Polished Scalloped Knob. Never used. Price $145.00.
Both in great condition. No dings.
Stored in cushioning wrap, zip-loc bag and a plastic storage tub and kept inside my home.

Note: Will NOT fit FD RX-7s (1993 - 1995).

FYI: S4 RX-7 cars used a shift lever with a 12x1.50mm thread pitch. S5 RX-7 cars used a shift lever with a 10x1.25mm thread pitch.
