I designed this Pulley to replace the heavy GM steel pulley on my 1963 Corvette alternator. I had it machined from bar stock by Street and Performance in Mena, AR in the mid/late 1980s. I used this pulley for a time before changing to a serpentine drive.
It is machined for .669" diameter shaft alternators (GM size) and uses a stock (at that time) 3/8" wide V belt. It is a deep groove design. I referenced Machinists Handbook for groove criteria. 3 1/2" outside diameter.
There are no nicks or damage on this pulley. It has a satin machine finish. The belt V groove is polished free of any burrs or sharp edges. Pulley is stored in a zip loc bag and a box and kept inside.
The industry had not taken off in aftermarket pulleys at that time.
Notes: MUST use a flat washer against the pulley face before the lock washer and nut. Pulley can be polished if desired.
