Pills pretty much fixed mine. When you find the medication that works for you and combine it with good weekly counseling, they can work. They just kind of give you a more up-beat, positive attitude. That can give you the boost you need to go out and find that job, repair that relationship you need with family members or aid in sobriety. A lot of people who are using drugs or alcohol are self-medicating to escape the pain. By taking an anti-depressant daily it can help balance the chemicals in the brain 24/7 instead of just numbing the pain until the drugs or alcohol wear off, then they are faced with the same pain/depression again. It takes a bit of work to find the right medication... and the right counselor! *eyeroll* But once you find them and do the work like I did, it's a lot better.
