CDL-A Solo Cover Driver | On-Call Vacation Relief | FedEx Drop & Hook | $1,400/Wk Guaranteed!

We are looking for professional CDL-A drivers to join our on-call cover driver list.

This is not a regular full-time position. This is for drivers who can step into our automatic Freightliner Cascadia sleepers and run solo for one week at a time while regular team drivers are off for vacation, time off, or scheduled leave.

You will be part of a group of reliable cover drivers we call throughout the year as needed. Notice will usually be given 48 hours to one week before the assignment starts.

Position Details

• Solo coverage
• One-week assignments as needed
• Estimated 22+ coverage weeks or more available each year across the cover-driver group
• FedEx terminal-to-terminal loads
• Drop & hook only
• No-touch freight
• Can go home daily when the route allows
• Staying in the truck is preferred and qualifies for the 2,000-mile weekly minimum
• Truck MUST be kept clean, organized, and respected

This position is best for a driver who wants periodic work, can be flexible, and is dependable when called.

Pay

• $0.70 CPM / $1,400/week guaranteed
• 2,000 miles guaranteed when assigned, available, and staying in the truck for the full coverage week
• Travel/fuel costs reimbursed with receipt when approved
• Eligible per diem may be paid tax-exempt when applicable and handled through payroll

Payroll is processed after completion of the assignment.

• 24/7 road and shop support

Requirements

• Valid Class A CDL
• 21 years or older
• Must have or be willing to obtain doubles/triples endorsement
• Must be able to pass drug screening
• No DWI/DUI in the last 7 years
• NO SAP unless already approved by FedEx and currently active
• No more than 2 moving violations in the last 12 months
• No cell phone or seat belt violation in the past 7 years

Experience Requirements

Must meet one of the following:

• Graduated truck driving school within the last 3 years with some experience
• OR graduated truck driving school with 6+ months experience
• OR 1 year of Class A experience in the last 3 years
• OR 5 years of Class A experience in the last 10 years

Who This Is Best For

This is a good fit for a professional CDL-A driver who wants flexible on-call work and can step into a truck for a week when needed.

We need someone clean, dependable, and respectful of equipment. These trucks are assigned to other drivers, so they must be returned in the same condition or better.

This is not a good fit for someone who needs guaranteed work every week. This is on-call cover work for vacation and scheduled time-off coverage.
